Office 365 - collaboration in the "cloud"

"Office 365" describes the availability of Microsoft's traditional "Office" applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook) over the Internet ("cloud"). It also includes other productivity services such as Lync web conferencing, Skype, Exchange Online hosted email, and online shared file storage with OneDrive.


Many Office 365 plans also include the desktop version of the latest Office applications, which can be installed across multiple computers and devices. Alternatively, Office 365 plans that are online-only can be sufficient to meet business needs, especially as they are compatible with desktop versions of Office.


All Office 365 plans are paid for on a subscription basis, monthly or annually.
